Corrosive COSHH Sign

Description: Corrosive COSHH signs are used on containers which contain chemicals that may destroy living tissue on contact. If misused incorrectly, corrosive materials can cause severe skin burns and severe eye damage. When transporting corrosive chemicals, it is advised to use COSHH signs to alert other road users and local authorities that the vehicle is carrying corrosive materials. Corrosive materials are a hazard in the event of a leak, accident or spillage. Using the correct up to date corrosive COSHH signs is a necessity for safety. Some examples of corrosive chemicals are sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid and nitric acid.

Some examples of corrosive safety precautions are:

• Safely remove and dispose of contaminated clothes
• In the event of contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of water
• Wear suitable protective equipment (PPE)
• In the event of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water
• In the event of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water for 15 minutes and seek medical help.
